Adam “Kenneth” Killion, age 53, departed this life on October 3, 2026.
While our hearts are heavy, anyone who knew Adam knows he would not want us to spend all our time being sad. He would much rather we laugh, tell stories, get outside, and probably turn just about everything into a friendly competition. Adam was a believer in Christ, and we find comfort in knowing that his earthly journey has ended, but his eternal one has just begun. Adam loved the outdoors and lived life with an adventurous spirit. He was an avid runner and a world champion dart and pool player—because apparently being good at one thing was never enough for Adam. He loved a challenge, loved to compete, and always seemed to have a story to tell about it afterward. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and later built a successful career as a regional chemical sales manager.
But perhaps Adam's greatest talent wasn't running, playing pool, throwing darts, serving his country, or succeeding in business. It was people. Adam never met a stranger. He could talk to anybody, anywhere, and somehow make them feel like an old friend. He had a big personality, a bigger heart, and a way of making people laugh and feel welcome. He was loved by so many, and his absence will be felt by everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Adam's greatest pride and joy included his children, Audrey Killion and Garrett Killion, who survive him and carry his love and memory forward. He is also survived by his father, Steve Killion Sr.; his brother, Steve Killion Jr.; his sister, Hershell Owens; his dear little sister-at-heart, Carolyn Klinglesmith. She was family to Adam in every way that mattered, and the bond they shared was one of those special relationships that words can hardly describe., and countless family members and friends who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shella Killion, and his grandparents.
Adam lived life with both feet in it. He loved the outdoors, loved running, loved competition, loved his country, loved his family, and most of all, he loved people. He didn't need an introduction to make a friend. He didn't need an invitation to join the fun. And he certainly didn't need a reason to tell a story. He was one of those people who made life a little louder, a little funnier, and a whole lot more memorable.
So rather than saying goodbye, perhaps we should say “See you later.”Until then, Adam, we hope Heaven has plenty of trails to run, a pool table waiting for you, darts that always hit the bullseye, and plenty of people who haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting you. Although we know you'll probably have already met them. Rest easy, Adam. You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and the memories you left behind will keep you alive in the hearts of everyone who knew you.
