Alva Raymond Stambaugh, Jr, age 86, of Sitka, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Pikeville Medical Center.

Alva was born October 3, 1936 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Alva and Georgia Ann Stambaugh.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Garnett Grace Jones Stambaugh; one son, Ora Lee Conley; two grandsons Trevor Conley and Lucas Conley; two sisters, Deloris Hensley and Ethel Woods.

He is survived by one son, Jason Stambaugh of Sitka, Kentucky; one daughter, Scarlett Conley of Marysville, Ohio; one broher, Ocenious Stambaugh of Paintsville, Kentucky; six sisters, Norma Penny of Louisiana, Judy Hendendrickson of Ashland, Kentucky, Bonnie Baldwin of Sitka, Kentucky, Brenda Jarrell and Debbie Boyd both of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Carrie Jarrell of Morehead, Kentucky; Twelve grandchildren and host of great-grandchildren.

Alva volunteered at Milford Center Fire Department for 25 years.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Derrick Meade officiating.  Burial will follow in the Amazing Grace Cemetery on Puncheon Creek, Sitka, KY.   Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022.
