Arnold Amburgey, Jr. age 72, of Riceville Road, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his home.

Arnold was born March 24, 1950 in Letcher County, Kentucky, son of the late Arnold Amburgey, Sr. and Gladys Amburgey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, John Amburgey, six brothers, Colton Amburgey, Chester Amburgey, Brady Amburgey, Jerry Amburgey, Gary Amburgey, and Dennie Amburgey, and two sisters, Faye Baker and Thelma Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Gay Nell Mahon Amburgey; one son, Robert Allen (Whitney) Amburgey of Oil Springs, Kentucky; one daughter, Rita Rebecca (Johnny) Tolliver of Paintsville, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Amanda Caudill of Denver, Kentucky; two sisters, Barbara Sexton of Letcher County, Kentucky and Mary Amburgey of Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Tessa Amburgey, Nolan Amburgey, Camren Amburgey, Lincoln Amburgey, and Harper Tolliver.

Memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel.  The family will receive friends for A Time of Remembrance on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
