Barbara Jean Horne Hamilton, age 84, of Wittensville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.

Born on July 5, 1942, in Lackey, Kentucky, Barbara was the daughter of the late Willard Richard Horne and Mary Sammons Horne. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Len Franklin Hamilton, as well as her brothers, Arbin Willard Horne and Paul Michael Horne and one grandson, Franklin Chase Hamilton.

Barbara dedicated much of her life to helping others through her work as a Real Estate Agent with Town & Country Realty, where she was known for her integrity, kindness, and genuine care for the people she served. She built lasting friendships throughout the community and always enjoyed making others feel welcome.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her son, Ben Franklin Hamilton (Debra) of Wittensville, Kentucky; her daughter, Jeanne Len Hamilton Reed (Jeff) of Flat Gap, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Ben Franklin Hamilton II (Alli) of Scottsboro, AL, and Michael Alexander Hamilton (Katherine) of Washington D.C. She is also survived by other loving family members and many friends who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5 P.M. until 8 PM. Friday, July 17, 2026 and on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 1 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Johnson County Schools Family Resource Center.
