Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home

Burial: Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky

Beloved husband and father, Benjamin H. Cox, age 68, passed away Tuesday September 7 in Lexington, KY.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home. The funeral will follow on Monday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of God in Paintsville, KY where he was a member and served for over 20 years. Burial will be at the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Ben Cox was born January 23, 1953 in Paintsville KY, the son of the late James D. Cox and Dorothy Conn Cox. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James D. Cox II, and his sister Connie Hromyak.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy Cox; One brother, Timothy (Shondah) Cox; His wife Paulinda Bailey Cox; One daughter, Leslie Jones (Derek) of  Louisville and one son, Aaron Benjamin Cox (Gera) of Lexington, KY, six grandchildren Lucille, Silas, Hadley, Cecilia, Josephine, and Douglas Jones, his mother-in-law, Gay Bailey Goble (Worth), and four nephews, Jerrod Adams (Crystal), Wesley Short, James D. Cox III, and Jayden Cox

As a young adult, Ben attended Paintsville Independent Schools where he excelled in academics and played Football and Baseball for the Paintsville Tigers. Ben and Paulinda were married in 1975. Ben went on to own and operate Cox Pontiac, Buick, GMC in Paintsville Kentucky and later work in the insurance industry for 35 years. During his lifetime he enjoyed tending to his garden, helping others, fishing, and serving as Chairman of the Board and treasurer of his church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Twelve Baskets Food Pantry at the First Church of God in Paintsville, KY. The family kindly requests that guests wear a mask when attending the visitation and/or funeral service.
