Betsy Rae Evans, age 49, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at her home.

Betsy was born July 27, 1973 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of David Evans of Van Lear, Kentucky and the late Madlyn J. May Evans.

In addition to her father, Betsy is survived by her husband, Darrell Tackett of Paintsville, Kentucky; two sons, Gaige May of Newport, Tennessee and Nick May of Paintsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Kelsey May of Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters, Jaime Evans Coleman of Dandridge, Tennessee and Robyn Evans Spradlin of Newport, Tennessee; one grandchild, Oliver Douglas May; and a host of extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023.
