Betty Ruth Blanton, age 76, of Johnson County, Kentucky, went to her heavenly eternal rest Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Betty was born September 23, 1943 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ed Mayfield. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Blanton and one brother, Herbert Mayfield.

She is survived by one son, James Paul "JP" Blanton II; one daughter, Virginia Renee Hembree; special companion, Harold Lloyd; three brothers, Paul Mayfield, Clarence Mayfield and Rick Mayfield; two sisters, Joan Livengood and Brenda Sue Dierh; two grandchildren, Kelsie Eldridge and Will Hembree; and three great grandchildren, Benji Wright, Colton Eldridge and Paityn Eldridge.

Betty was a beautician, secretary and retired from W.R. Castle Elementary.

Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Ronnie Spriggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 and 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020.
