Betty Sue Conley Pennington, age 72, of Red Bush, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her home.

Betty was born November 17, 1952 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Lestia Adams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mart and Novia Adams, mother and father in law, Ira and Ola Pennington, one sister, Dana Flanery, and one brother, William Dean Adams.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis Pennington; one daughter, Kimberly (Chris) Stalker of Flat Gap, Kentucky; one son, Anthony (Stephanie) Pennington of Flat Gap, Kentucky; one step son, Mark (Lisa) Pennington of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Marie (Jimmie) Pennington of Flat Gap, Kentucky; one step granddaughter, Alyssa Parent; special aunt who was like a sister, Esta Penix of Hager Hill, Kentucky; caregivers, Stephanie Cisco, Alyssa Parent, and Marie Pennington; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Betty worked in the Dietary Department for Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center and Paintsville ARH.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Steve Rose officiating. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025.
