Burial: Castle Family Cemetery, Whippoorwill Road, Nippa, Kentucky

Retired Funeral Director, Billy Ray Lyons, age 81, of Nippa, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Paintsville ARH.

Billy was born on August 10, 1943 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Andrew Lyons and Lydia Meadows Lyons. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Faye Castle Lyons; two daughters, Robin (Phillip) Meek of Tutor Key, Kentucky and Jennifer (Chris) Ferguson of Wittensville, Kentucky; one brother, Clarence Lyons of Nippa, Kentucky; one sister, Winnie Hamilton of Paintsville, Kentucky; four sister in laws, Janice Castle Bone of Wabash, Indiana, Brenda Castle Watson of Dayton, Ohio, Sylvia Castle of Swamp Branch, Kentucky and Sally Lyons of Marion, Ohio; one brother in law, Dan Schmidt of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Amberly (Ryan) Miller, Ashleigh Meek, Donovan Ferguson, and Faith Ferguson; and one great grandson, Xavier Miller.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Chuck Slone, Joe Scott and James Kelly Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Castle Family Cemetery, Whippoorwill Road, Nippa, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024.

Billy was a retired Funeral Director from Jones-Preston Funeral Home. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
