Brenda Sue Ward, age, 74, has entered her heavenly "Mansion Over the Hilltop". She was a wonderful, sweet, kind and generous woman, daughter and sister.

Brendas' earthly life began on February 27, 1950, in Paintsville, KY, and was completed at her home in Cannonsburg, KY, on May 6, 2024.

Brenda was baptized into the First Christian Church of Louisa, KY at the age of 12. She was currently a member of Beech Street Christian Church in Ashland, KY.

Brenda grew up in Louisa, KY, and graduated from Louisa High School. She continued her education at Morehead State University where she obtained a degree in Sociology and Business and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Kentucky.

The occupational life for Brenda began at FIVCO Area Dev. District for 18 years. She then proceeded to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital where she held the position of medical social worker and in 2015, she retired.

Brenda was the eldest child of Clifford and Garnet Short Ward who preceded her in death. She was also the eldest grandchild to Russell and Hazel Short and Gervin and Olga Ward, also preceding her in death.

Brenda was such a loving sister and aunt with a beautiful soul. She is survived by one sister, Debra Ward Caudill (Morehead, KY), and one brother-in-law Charles Michael Caudill (Morehead, KY). A special love was displayed to two nephews that called her Bebe, and she carried them in her heart daily; Michael Chase Caudill (Summer Blevins) of Staffordsville, KY, and Charles Blake Caudill (Elizabeth

Nagel) of Clermont Ferrand, France; two loving nieces; Caroline Eden Caudill and Catherine Esther Caudill of Staffordsville, KY., and two precious dogs, Napa Rae and Sonoma Rose. She is survived by many loving cousins and dear friends.

Pallbearers for Brendas' service will be Mike Caudill, Chase Caudill, David Wright, Doug Hutchinson, John Downey, Eddie Brady, Justin White and Mark Harless. Visitation will be held at Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Friday May 10 and before the service on Sat. May 11 which will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
