Carl David Burks, age 75, of Nippa, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at Paintsville ARH.

Carl was born March 5, 1950 in Ohio, son of the Robert Burks and Ruby Hale Burks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers, Luther Burks, Bud Burks, Bill Burks, Marvin Burks, Charles Burks, and Richard Burks; and one sister, Nancy Castle.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Castle Burks; two sons, Willie (Crystal) Burks of Paintsville, Kentucky and Jakie Burks of West Van Lear, Kentucky; one brother, Ellis (Ruby) Burks of Nippa, Kentucky; three sisters, Julie Faye (Arthur) Castle of Nippa, Kentucky, Della May Ratliff of Barnetts Creek, Kentucky, and Wanita Burks of Ohio; one grandchild, Isabella Burks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with James Kelly Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Castle Family Cemetery, Grim Hollow, Nippa, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 11, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
