Catherine Estep Salyer, age 82, of Flat Gap, KY, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

She was born on October 9, 1942, in Johnson County, KY, to the late John and Cova Cantrell Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Bracken Salyer, on March 17, 2021, and two brothers: Brian Estep and Harry B Estep.

Survivors include two sons: Eric Dewayne (Tammy) Salyer of Lexington, KY, Larry Steven (Jennifer) Salyer of Flat Gap, KY; two sisters: Mary Williams of Sitka, KY, Charlotte May Prater of Mt. Sterling, KY; along with two grandchildren: Tabitha Courtney (Jeremy) Pack, Truman Storm Salyer; five great- grandchildren: Olive Jessa Pack, Baylei, Isabella, Canaan, and Levi Howard.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the chapel of the Jones Preston Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of services at 1 P.M.
