Chad Layton Cantrell, age 30, of Roanoke, Virginia, formerly of Johnson County, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem, Virginia.

Chad was born September 17, 1993 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Ronnie Lee Cantrell and Belinda Jean Kimbler Cantrell.

He is survived by his sister, Latoya Dewey of Paintsville, Kentucky; two nephews, Abel Jameson Dewey and Conner Lee Austin; and a host of additional family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Sitka, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
