Charles E. Barron Sr., age 72, of Paintsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.

He was born on June 12, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, KY, to the late Stanley Acton and Maggie Barron.

On April 29, 2011, in Nicholasville, he married Sharon Grass Barron, who survives. Additional survivors include one son, Charles E. Barron Jr. of Nicholasville; one stepson, Timothy Pennington of West Van Lear; three daughters, Kim (Chris) Byars of Nicholasville, Jennifer (Billy) Blair of Nicholasville, Genora Lee Coldiron of TN, along with thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 12 P.M. Saturday, September 5, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Roger Hill officiating. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 10 A.M. until the memorial service at 12 P.M.

An inurnment will be held at a later date at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville.
