Charles Ray Bowles, age 77, of Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at Pikeville Medical Center.

Charles was born April 28, 1945 in Montgomery County, Kentucky, son of the late Obie Bowles and Emma Martin Bowles. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Larry Keith Auxier and two daughters, Tammy Cantrell and Paula Renee Daniel.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ann Caudill Bowles; three sons, Timothy Earl Bowles, Anthony Ray Bowles and Mark Allen Bowles all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two daughters, Denise Ann Chittum of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Betty Lee Tackett of Oil Springs, Kentucky; one brother, Tom Bowles of Cynthania, Kentucky; two sisters, Velma Johnson and Nancy Jones both of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2022 at Ramey Branch Church with Denvil Mollett and Tim Salyer officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Ramey Branch Church from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022, 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2022.
