Charles McCarty, age 71, of Ashville, Ohio, formerly of Johnson County, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his home.

Charles was born May 1, 1950 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Glenn and Ellen Reed McCarty.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Ratliff McCarty; one son, Charles Samuel McCarty of Ashville, Ohio; two daughters, Sandra Carol Schlegler of Stoutsville, Ohio and Patricia Sue Spaulding of Lancaster, Ohio; one sister, Ann Gilbert of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Obie Ratliff Cemetery, Denver, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Monday, July 26, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 Noon.
