Charles C. Pappas, 73, passed away June 12 ^th , 2020 at his home in Flat Gap Kentucky (after a long battle with cancer)

Charlie was born November 25, 1946, the only child of Aphrodite (Freda) Laganos and  Chris Pappas. He grew up in the Highlands of Lynn, Massachusetts on Circuit Avenue in a lively multifamily home together with his parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He attended the Lynn public school system graduating from Lynn English High School in 1964 and from Boston University with a degree in Law. He later served with distinction in the United States Army including being stationed in South Korea along the Demilitarized Zone.

After his military service, he returned home and worked for the Massachusetts Port Authority and U.S. Customs before joining the Law offices of Brian T. O'Niell with a specialty in Immigration Law. Charlie brought to the firm his own unique mix of intelligence, professionalism, and sophisticated humor that endeared him to everyone.

Charlie's childhood was shaped to a great degree by his grandparents who immigrated from Greece. He acquired from them humility, thrift, and a strong work ethic. His honest, dependability and loyalty, along with his sense of humor, were appreciated by everyone who came to know him.

Charlie always lived life to the fullest. He traveled the world and had a high degree of appreciation for a wide array of cultures and cuisines. A collector of wines and spirits, he enjoyed a fine meal and a well paired beverage. He also equally enjoyed a simple meal in the style of his Greek heritage. He especially enjoyed sharing meals and a table with family and friends. Charlie was equally comfortable and engaging in the company of politicians, corporate executives, or the working class; male or female, young or old. He always treated everyone with class and respect; and he was loved by all.

In addition to his native English, Charlie spoke fluent Greek and Spanish, as well as a more than passing knowledge of German, French, and Portuguese. He was a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge of historical events and had an incredible memory and understanding for everything he learned.

Charlie was a loving son to his adoring mother, and his stepfather, John Buckley. An only child, he was always thoughtful and giving, bringing great joy to their lives.

Charlie is survived by his wife Brenda (Stapleton) Pappas of Flat Gap, Kentucky.
