Charles Vencil Ratliff, age 73, of West Van Lear, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home.

Vencil was born October 5, 1948 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Samuel Everett Ratliff and Ruby Daniel Daniels. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Hughes and Patricia Middleton and three brothers, James Daniels, Danny Daniels and Samuel Edmond Ratliff.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa L. McKenzie; two sons, Wendell Dwayne (Sheri) Ratliff of Winchester, Kentucky and Craig (Amber) Ratliff of Paintsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Melissa Dawn (Michael)  Harvey of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Hunter Venson (Summer)  Ratliff, Kayla Dawn Ratliff (Zak)Tackett, John Braxton Craig Ratliff, Sarah Ashton Ratliff, Baron Maxwell Lee Ratliff and Blair Lynn Ratliff; and three brothers, Everett Ratliff of Leland, Florida, Fred Ratliff and Raymond Daniels both of West Van Lear, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Mike Tackett and Tim McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022.
