Charles David Thompson, 81, of Sitka Kentucky, died on Monday, August 10, 2020.

"Charles David" was born in Blaine, Kentucky, to Charles William and Pearl Thompson on June 26, 1939.  He went to school in Blaine, Kentucky, where he met and married the love of his life Tressie Cordle.  He married Tressie Cordle on June 5, 1959. They were blissfully married for 61 years.

Charles David is preceded in death by his mother and father.

Charles David is survived by his wife Tressie Cordle Thompson of Sitka, Kentucky: Son Andy Thompson of Tampa, Florida; Son David Thompson and David's fiancé Sara Scanio of Tampa, Florida.

Charles David was deeply involved in the Freemasons and achieved the distinction and honor of being bestowed 33rd Degree Freemason of the Scottish Rite. He had a love for God, nature, hunting, fishing, and farming. He was involved in several organizations that promoted conservation and farming through more efficient and environmentally friendly methods.

Charles David was beloved by his family, friends, and community. He shared a contagious smile and echoed a hearty laugh in welcoming to all he encountered. He will live on in all who he touched with their memories for his smile, laugh, and caring for his fellow man.

He will be missed wherever he was known.

Scottish Rites will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. and Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Robert Blanton and Harold Salyer officiating. Burial will follow at Yatesville Memorial Gardens, Louisa, Kentucky.  Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020.
