Cleatha (Kitty) Hall Sturgill, 92, of Stambaugh, KY, departed this earth on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her home. The last surviving daughter of the late Thomas Buddy Hall and Nannie Bell Fouts Hall of Pike County, KY, she was born September 28, 1931 in Knott County, Kentucky,  Kitty was preceded in death by her husband Earl Sturgill of Stambaugh, KY, her daughter in law Paula Gwynn (Tackett) Sturgill of Virgie, KY, her grandson Daniel Brett Sturgill of Virgie, and her siblings:  Homer(Norma) Hall, Millie (Diamond) Waddles, and Ethel (Griggs) King, all of Knott County, Harold (Kathleen) Hall of Jonancy, KY, Parsie (Harry) Miller of Logan, WVA, Herbie (Martrella) Hall of Lincoln Park, MI, Conard Hall of Virgie, Grathel (Lavon)Tackett of Virgie, Leatha (Lacy) Tackett of Virgie, and Thomas (Joyce) Hall of Grundy, VA.  Kitty is survived by her children: Danny Earl (Lorene) Sturgill of Virgie, KY, Anita Ruth Sturgill of Stambaugh, KY, and Felicia JoAnn Sturgill of Richmond, KY; her grandchildren: Annetta (Jerry) Robinson and Cody (Jessica) Sturgill of Virgie; her great grandchildren: Megan (Joe) Morris of Clay City, KY, Hailey (Sawyer) Kenniston of Winchester, KY, and Tyler Robinson, Cody Sturgill, Brett Sturgill, Danielle Robinson, Danny Robinson, and Jacob Sturgill, all of Virgie; one great-great granddaughter, Crimson Kenniston of Winchester. Kitty is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews, whom she loved deeply in return .

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2024 at Paintsville Church of Christ, with Steve Trimble officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial. Visitations will be at Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Virgie, Kentucky from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. February 24, 2024. Friends may visit Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. , February 25, 2024 .
