Clista "Jenny" Penix Meade, age 76, of Nippa, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at her home.

Jenny was born December 30, 1945 in Clothier, West Virginia, daughter of the late Estel Penix and Ethel Boyd Penix. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Meade; one son, Jimmy Allen Meade; and five brothers, Estel "Delnore" Penix, Jr., George Penix, Harold Jack Penix, Harvey Ray Penix, and Infant Calvin Penix.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Ray Meade of Florida and Billy Meade of Hazard, Kentucky; one grandson, Brandon Skaggs of Nippa, Kentucky; one brother, Glenn Penix of Martin County, Kentucky; and two sisters, Donna Jenkins and Kathy Blevins both of Martin County, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Glenn Penix and Willis Staton officiating. Burial will follow in the Ray Meade Cemetery, Whippoorwill Road, Nippa, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
