Clyde Hershel Castle, age 79, of River, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at his home.

Clyde was born July 24, 1947 in Pike County, Kentucky, son of the late Homer Castle and Edith Beverly Castle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Berman Lee Kiser, Glenda Castle, Diane Maynard, Jimmy Ross Castle, John Henry Castle, Donnie Joe Castle, and Roger Dale Castle.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Sue Mollett Castle whom he married June 17, 1989. To this union, they raised together three sons and two daughters, Jerold Alan Castle of Inez, Kentucky, Walter Michael Castle of Inez, Kentucky, and Kyle Daniel Preece of Louisa, Kentucky, Carolyn Ventta Maynard of Louisa, Kentucky, and April Dawn Dutton-Kerns of Capon Bridge, West Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be conducted 4:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM.
