David Earl VanHoose, age 78, of Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at King's Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

David was born on January 20, 1947, in Fayette County, Kentucky, to the late Clifford Earl VanHoose and Dixie Faye Preston VanHoose. A proud patriot, David honorably served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. His dedication to his fellow veterans continued throughout his life as he actively volunteered with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), offering his time and support to those who had served.

He is survived by his daughter, Nikki (David) Bowling of Richmond, Kentucky; his son, Michael David VanHoose of Berea, Kentucky; and his beloved grandchildren, Maggie Quin Bowling and Lauren Marie VanHoose. He also leaves behind two sisters, Cathy (Paul) Daniel of Wittensville, Kentucky, and Susan McDaniel of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews.

David's legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the service he gave.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 30th, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.
