Deloris "DeDe" Sergent, age 72, of Paintsville, long-time legal secretary for the Johnson County Attorney, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at her residence.

DeDe was born July 11, 1953, in Johnson County to the late Carl Sergent and Ora Ann Lemaster Baker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Carl Lee Sergent, and one brother-in-law, Jimmie Ratliff.

DeDe is survived by her son Jordan Witten, three brothers, Larry (Beatrice) Sergent of Paintsville, Kentucky, Eddie (Karen) Sergent of John's Creek, Kentucky, Michael (Jamie) Sergent, and daughter Tess of John's Creek, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Tracy (Carl-deceased) Sergent, son Zac of Staffordsville, Kentucky; one sister, Teresa Ratliff of Staffordsville, Kentucky; granddaughter, Hattie Ann Witten, grandson, Reid Tyler Witten; two special friends, Brenda and Tammy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Monday, August 18, 2025, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Jared Waller officiating. Burial to follow at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. Sunday, August 17, 2025, and on Monday from 9 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1 P.M.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with all funeral arrangements for Ms. Deloris "DeDe" Sergent.
