Dewel James Perry, age 86, of Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the UK King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Dewel was born August 18, 1939, son of the late Cam and Mary Ramey Perry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Dewey C. Perry and one sister, Rilda Pennington.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Carol Ross Perry whom he married on August 5, 1967. To this union were born three children, Clavin Perry of Louisa, Kentucky, Casey Perry of Littleton, Colorado, and Susan Perry of Flat Gap, Kentucky.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Gregory Zedekar, Kimberly Zedekar, Ayden Perry, and Colin Perry and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Tim Salyers officiating. Friends may visit Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
