Donald Ray Ross, age 81, of Staffordsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Donald was born October 3, 1942 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Roy R. Ross and Agnes Daniels Ross. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Pelphrey Ross.

He is survived by two sons, Donnie and Ronnie Ross of Staffordsville, Kentucky; one brother, Jack (Jerri) Ross of Paintsville, Kentucky; two sisters, Peggy (Wayne) Castle of Columbus, Ohio and Ruth Ann Brickley of Knoxville, Tennessee; companion, Robin Greene of Flat Gap, Kentucky; and special granddaughter, Gracie.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with James Kelly Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Pelphrey Family Cemetery, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Masonic service will be conducted Friday, April 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. by Paintsville Lodge No. 381 F&AM.
