Edwin Wallace Rose, age 91, of Flat Gap, passed away Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on April 8, 1935, in Flat Gap to the late Roy and Ethel Salyer Rose. On January 28, 1956, in Paintsville, he married Deloris Rose, who preceded him in death on January 23, 2002.

He is survived by three sons: Bill (Sharon) Rose of Flat Gap, Donald Rose of Flat Gap, Eddie Rose of Lugoff, SC; two grandchildren: Anthony Rose, Dejuan (Adam) Donnelly; two great-grandchildren: Mychal Rose, Deon (Alison) Donnelly; one great-great-grandchild: Maverick Rose; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Lindsay Meade and Roger Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Family Cemetery at Flat Gap. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 11 A.M.
