Elizabeth Joan was born on July 14, 1944 in Toronto, Ontario- Canada. She was the beloved daughter of Jim and Ruth Barr. Joan had a very happy childhood often playing with her dear cousins, Bill, Randi, Erik, Edie Jane and Russell.

On May 8, 1965 Joan married Robert Walter Murcin in Port Colborne, Ontario. Together they had two children Matthew James (Christina "Nicki") and Stephanie Ruth (Jeffery) and four beautiful grandchildren: Caleb, Selena, Emily and Ethan.

Joan was well-known as an extremely kind and thoughtful person, always ready to help. She often took the time to send cards with poems or stories to encourage her dear friends.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Joan volunteered her time to share the "good news" about God's Kingdom with as many as possible. It brought joy to her heart, throughout the years, to study the Bible with others.

Joan was a wonderful mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and many close friends as they patiently wait to see her again.
