Elizabeth Kay Meade, age 87, of Van Lear, formerly of Boons Camp, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on January 5, 1939, in Leander to the late Hershell and Marie Goble Brown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Meade, and one son-in-law, Gary Melvin.

She is survived by one daughter, Katrina Melvin of Paintsville; two grandchildren: Ashley (Mike) Kirk, Kyle Melvin; three great-grandchildren: Callie, Cooper, and Cambree.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Paintsville Church of Christ. Interment to follow at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Sunday at the Paintsville Church of Christ from 1 P.M. until the time of the funeral services at 2 P.M.
