Ethel Janette Burke, age 93, of Hager Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Burke was born August 26, 1932, in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Bayless Blair and Laura Trimble Cantrell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel L. Burke; one brother, Robert George Trimble; and one half-sister, Boneva Blair Hitchcock.

Surviving are three sons, Samuel (Cindy) Burke, Keith (Carla) Burke, and James (Sheila) Burke, all of Staffordsville, Kentucky; two daughters, Edna Burke of Hager Hill, Kentucky, and Mary Tackett of Clay City, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Jordan, Megan, April, Jimmie Lee, Dwayne, Mikki, Shawn, Tiffany, Brady, and Tyler; twelve great-grandchildren, Alden, Parker, Macy, Madelyn, Madisyn, Mercy, Maddox, Asher, Riley, Kaden, James Arthur, and Damion.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Friday, July 24, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Ronnie Spriggs officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Staffordsville. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M.; on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 12 Noon until 8 P.M.; and on Friday from 9 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 11 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Highland Church of Christ Youth Group or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
