Fontella Fairchild, age 81, of West Liberty, Kentucky passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024 at Green Acres Complete Care Center, Toms River, New Jersey.

She was born on August 19,1943 in South Shore,Kentucky. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mitchell and Manda (Wallin) Keaton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Fairchild. She was a member of New Salem Enterprise Baptist Church, Moon Kentucky.  She was a graduate of Mayo Vocational-Technical School majoring in business and worked at Carl D.Perkins Rehabilitation Center for 27 years where she made many lifelong friends.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She had resided in New Jersey for the past 18 years but she always considered Kentucky her home.

She is survived by her daughter Gilberta (Mohammed) Ghriga of Forked River, New Jersey one granddaughter Lauren Ghriga, working toward her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She has 5 siblings Loretta (Jesse, deceased) Cantrell, Lavina (Roger) Conley, Ronald (Anita) Keaton, Barbara (James) Music, and Richard (Kathie) Keaton. As well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024.
