Obituary

Funeral: Saturday, July 30 at 11 am. in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel

Visitation: 5 :00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home

Entombment: Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky

Frank  "Morty" Morton Sublett, age 84, passed away on July 27, 2022  at Somerset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Somerset, Kentucky. Born in Glo, Kentucky, he was the third son of parents Frank B. and Grace McFadden Sublett.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger Sublett, infant brother Allen Thomas Sublett and his faithful companion Dandee.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anetta (Barnett) Sublett; brother, David (Sue) Sublett; nieces Charlotte (David)Thompson and Fayetta (Jason) Durrett; nephews Keith (Abby) Sublett and Roger Alan Sublett; and special son, Mark Hamilton. He has 4 great and 11 great great nieces and nephews.
Frank graduated from Inez High School in 1954, which self-admittedly was the best year of his life. He joined the army shortly thereafter but was honorably discharged due to missing fingers from a childhood accident.
He made his home in the Dayton, Ohio area where he worked as an electrician at McCalls, motel owner, real estate developer and Schomey's Gun Show proprietor. He was a Kentucky Colonel and ardently followed the UK basketball program.
He was a collector of all things and enjoyed bartering at local flea markets.
He returned to Kentucky, in 2020.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Isaac Rowland officiating.  Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.  Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Phillip Cove FWB Church, P.O. Box 232, Inez, KY 41224.
