Fred Nelson, age 76, of East Point, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home.

Fred was born August 9, 1947 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of Rosie Gasparac Nelson of Salyersville, Kentucky and the late Isaac Nelson. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Nelson and one sister, Connie Castle.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Nelson; one daughter, Aliena (Jeremy) Greene of Paintsville, Kentucky; three grandsons, Briston Greene, Branson Greene and Brody Greene; and one sister, Barbara Salyer Branham of Paintsville, Kentucky.

He is also survived by Jimmy, Donnie, Randy, Sweet Deb, Stephanie, and Toddie Foddie who were like brothers and sisters to him.

Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.

Fred was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge and former State Grandmaster.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV.
