Garnett Marie Castle Ratliff, age 76, of Staffordsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, December 19, 2020.  She was surrounded by her family, who love and miss her.

Garnett was born January 5, 1944, to the late Monroe Castle and Nolda Castle.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers; Bobbi Gene Castle, Florid Castle, James Douglas Castle, Dallas Castle, Carl Castle, and Lester Martin Castle.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters; Cathleen Castle, Irene Castle Melvin, and Eva Lee Castle Vanhoose.

Garnett was baptized at Vine St. Church, Paintsville, Kentucky in December of 1957.  She was a long time member at Little Mud Lick Church of God, and she was an active member of the WCG, "Women of the Church of God, for several years.

Garnett is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul Rex Ratliff.  They were joined in holy matrimony on August 3, 1964 in Wise, Virginia.  To this union they were blessed with three children; Rex Allen (Robin) Ratliff, Carla Kaye Ratliff (Keith) Burke, Brian Scott (Jessica) Ratliff, all of Staffordsville.  They welcomed six grandchildren; Tyler, Justin, Jordan, Seth, Marcus, Savannah and one step grandchild, Brady Borowski-Burke, three great grandchildren, Luke, Will and Alden, with a great granddaughter on the way, due in April 2021.  Two sisters, Virginia Louise Melvin, of Paintsville, Kentucky, Chlora June Fitch of Springfield, Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Carol Finn, Appalachian Hospice and Virginia Preston for the care that she received throughout her sickness.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Little Mud Lick Church of God, Staffordsville, Kentucky.  Friends may visit the Little Mud Lick Church of God, Monday, December 21, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 22, 2020,  9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
