Burial: Short Family Cemetery, Hager Hill, Kentucky

Gary Russell Short, age 69, formerly of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away at his home in Pairs, Kentucky, on March 10, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Mary Short.

Gary is survived by his daughter Amy and two grandsons Jake and Russ.

Also surviving , one brother, Matthew Short; four sisters, Linda Brady and husband Eddie, Jodi Short and Dean Preston, Alicia McKenzie and her husband Mark, Paula Wright and her husband David.

Gary also leaves a long list of friends and family including nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; Justin White, Ben Wright, LeAnna Bolden, Hunter Preston, Mary Ellen McKenzie, Bobby and Kendra McKenzie and aunt Frankie Delong.

Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews; Jackson White, Jeremy Wilson, Prescott Preston, Clara, Elijah, Katherine, Charlotte Bolden, Brilee, Graham, and Lucy Wright.

Gary loved his family. His passing leaves a large void in our hearts, but we will always remember him.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Mark Mckenzie and Ben Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Short Family Cemetery, Hager Hill, Kentucky .  Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 and 11:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
