Gayle Lynn (Wheeler) Daniel, age 86 of Paintsville, departed this life on June 25, 2025 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Gayle was born on February 26, 1939 in Paintsville, KY to parents Troy H. and Emma Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Daniel, brother Troy W. Wheeler, brother in law Lonnie Dunn Jr. and nephews David A. Wheeler and Lonnie Dunn III.

She is survived by her son, Morey E. Daniel and wife Lori of Versailles, KY, grandson Mason E. Daniel (wife DeAnna) of Lawrenceburg, KY, nieces Donna M. Wheeler of Paintsville and Dana D. Ransdell (husband Keith) of Nicholasville, KY and numerous cousins.

Gayle was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and a faithful member of Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church for over 44 years until her passing. She was baptized Feb. 19, 1981. She spent her 40+ year career as a bookkeeper and office manager for various companies in the area in the automotive, coal, furniture and trucking businesses. She was a 1957 graduate of Paintsville High School and Mayo Vocational School.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at Highland Memorial Park with Pastor Chuck Slone officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 1:45 PM, Friday, June 27, 2025.
