• Burial : Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky

After sharing his life with us for 77 years, 9 months and 29 days. Gene Edward Tackett, age 77, of Sitka, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.

Gene was born January 18, 1943 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Clarence Edward and Nina Richardson Tackett. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Ann Tackett Newman.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann Tackett; one son, Keith Edward Tackett (Brandi), Sitka, Kentucky; three brothers Joe Lee Tackett and wife Fannin of Wayne West Virginia, Harry Allen Tackett and Cindy of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Billy Franklin Tackett and wife Cindy of Grafton, Ohio; three sisters, Nina Sue Dooley and husband Jim of South Webster, Ohio, Geraldine Rae Keeton and husband Darrell of Brushy, Kentucky and Vicky Ilene McCullen of Clarksville, Tennessee; and two grandchildren, Zachary Clay Newman and Chase Newman both of Lexington, Kentucky.

Gene served in the Army, he entered on December 24, 1959 in Ashland, Kentucky. He was Honorable discharged on October 5, 1965 in Fort Hamilton, New York. He held the rank of Specialist 4.

Gene was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, friends and community.

We the family, feel our loss will be shared by all who knew and loved him. Gene, you will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 in the Father's House of Prayer with Derek Meade officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.  Friends may visit the Father's House of Prayer on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 D A V.
