Harry Douglas "Doug" Auxier, age 93 of Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his home.

Doug was born September 10, 1929 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late Richard Hurford "Dick" Auxier and Sarah Stapleton Auxier. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Danny Ray Auxier and Franklin Auxier; and five sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Earnestine Prewitt Auxier, three daughters, Sandra Hatfield and Virginia Blair both of Salyersville, Kentucky and Patty Auxier of Columbus, Ohio; and two sons, Harry Douglas Auxier, Jr. of Salyersville, Kentucky and Michael Auxier of California; three brothers, Pete Auxier, Harold Auxier and Martin Auxier all of Paintsville, Kentucky; and eleven grandchildren and a host great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Erve Bradley and Willis Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
