Helen Bowen, age 67, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 7,  2021 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Helen was born February 7, 1954 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Joe and Amanda Blanton Staggs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Robert Bowen, one step daughter, Sherry McFaddin, one brother, Joe Staggs, Jr., one sister, Ora Ann Castle, and one great grandson, Jacob.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Castle and one son, Robert Austin Ward both of Paintsville, Kentucky; two step-sons, Robert Eugene Bowen or Nashville, Tennessee and Donnie Bowen of Paintsville, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Joshua Bowen and wife Ashley, Aleshia Borowski and husband Blake and Stephanie Justice Flink; and eight great grandchildren, Kashton, Caroline, Lincoln, Alora, Madison, Jonathan, Serenity, and Cooper.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Mark Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021.
