Irene Bowen Honeycutt, age 72, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Hazard ARH.

Irene was born November 7, 1950 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Morgan Bowen, Jr. and Mary Jane Hayden Bowen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two siblings, Wayne "Boo" Bowen and Ernestine Bowen.

Irene is survived by one daughter, Samantha (Chris) Castle of Prosper, Texas and her father Randy Honeycutt; one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Castle; three brothers, Morgan Bowen III, Fred Donald Bowen and Asie Lee Bowen all of Staffordsville, Kentucky; two sisters, Wanda Jean Sparks of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Willa Bowen Hall of Banner, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Jim McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Cemetery, Volga, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
