James "Jim" Aaron King, 57, of Nippa, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

Jim was born on March 11, 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio. Jim was the son of Bonnie Music King and the late Harold G. King.

Jim was a talented musician who played in several bands throughout his life and shared his love of music with everyone around him. He was known for his kind heart, friendly nature, infectious smile, and ability to light up a room. Those who knew Jim will remember him as the life of the party and someone who made lasting impressions on all who crossed his path.

Jim also served as the Animal Control Officer in River Oaks, Texas, where he worked tirelessly to rehome hundreds of shelter dogs. His compassion for animals and dedication to their welfare left a lasting impact on his community.

Jim is survived by his loving mother, Bonnie King of Nippa, Kentucky; his daughter, Miranda King of Alpena, Michigan; his twin sister, Jane King Bolinsky of Stow, Massachusetts; his sister, Patricia Bowen of Nippa, Kentucky; his brother, David King of Blue Mound, Texas; and his girlfriend, Lisa Lister of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold G. King.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 6 P.M. Saturday, August 8, 2026 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Michael Marcum officiating. Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 P.M. until the time of the memorial services at 6 P.M.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with all final arrangements for Mr. James Jim King.
