James Ralph Auxier, age 83, of East Point, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on October 1, 1942, in Johnson County to the late Edgar Lee and Opal Taylor Auxier. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrud Anna Stein Auxier.

Survivors include three sons: James Edgar (Kristi) Auxier of Las Vegas, Jody Waylon Auxier of East Point, and Lonnie Clayton (Melissa) Auxier of East Point; one sister: Sherry Slone of Staffordsville; along with four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday, October 4, 2026, in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home, with Richard “Bubby” Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Auxier Family Cemetery in East Point.

The Auxier Chapter 18 DAV will conduct full military honors.

Friends may visit at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 12 P.M. until the funeral service at 2 P.M.
