Burial: Patty Flat Cemetery, Flat Gap, Kentucky

James Lee McKenzie, age 72, of  Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Paintsville ARH.

James was born December 21, 1949, in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Sebastin McKenzie and Esta Susan Salyer McKenzie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Richardson McKenzie; one brother, Gary Johnson;  and one sister, Uyvonna Cantrell.

He is survived by one son, James Michael McKenzie, of Morehead, KY; one daughter, Jessica Ann Ferguson (Kenneth), of Flat Gap, KY; two brothers, Jerry McKenzie, of David, KY, and Keith Johnson, of Pikeville, KY; two sisters, Lorita Sublett, of Morehead, KY and Susan Fairchild, of Flat Gap, KY; five grandchildren, Abigail Olivia McKenzie, Emily Sarah McKenzie, Matthew Braden Ferguson, John Rylan Ferguson, and Mark Brennan Ferguson.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Thursday, March 31, 2022 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Matthew Craft and Tim Salyer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Patty Flat Cemetery, Flat Gap, Kentucky.  Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 12:00 Noon.

Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 D.A.V.
