James Edward Miller, age 74, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by the love he gave to his family and the people around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Thelma Mullett Miller of Paintsville, Kentucky; Leslie (Paul) Hitchcock of Florida, Jennifer (Jason) Keeney of Ohio, Wade Laney of Paintsville, Kentucky, Kaitlyn Daniels of Paintsville, Kentucky, Jasmine Wells of Paintsville, Kentucky, Jocelynn (Gauge) Gannon of Paintsville, Kentucky, Kaylee "Hopie" Persaud of Fort Hood, Texas.

Along with a host of grandchildren, Dalton, Allie & Bryson Hitchcock, Landon, Bentley, & Audriana Keeney, Harper, Kash, Brandon, and Sienna Laney.

James is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Avalynn Sexton, Nicholas Daniels, Renesmee Daniels, Crinson Gannon, Emery Compton, Zoe Gannon, and Octavia Persaud.

James is preceded in death by his mom, Alfreda Kent Miller, his dad, Don Carlos Miller, two daughters, Lorie Tackett and Jamie Baca.

James is also survived by his beloved fur baby, Blossom Miller.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
