- Burial: Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky
James Wayne Nickell, age 76 of Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at his home.
Wayne was born January 1, 1942 son of Neva Chamberlin Lanning of Cynthiana, Kentucky and the late James Nickell. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Rebekah Lynn Nickell and son Joseph Wayne Nickell.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Steve Nickell and wife Georgia of Cynthiana, Kentucky; one sister, Shirley Christophersen and husband Dana of Cynthiana, Kentucky; and one grandson, Joseph Cole Nickell of West Liberty, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church with James Kelly Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. Visitation Thursday, February 15, 2018 will be at Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
