James Wayne Ratliff, age 82, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.

James Wayne was born October 12,1940 in Johnson County, Kentucky, son of the late Earl Ratliff and Maddie Ward Ratliff. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Clyde Ratliff, Frank Ratliff and Earl "Junior" Ratliff; three sisters, Haddie Castle, Janice Wright and Clara Fraley.

James Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Lilly Mae Crislip Ratliff of Paintsville, Kentucky; two sons, Wayne Alan Ratliff and James Keith Ratliff both of Paintsville, Kentucky; one brother, Jimmy Lee (Teresa) Ratliff of Staffordsville, Kentucky; one sister, Shirley Kretzer of Winchester, Kentucky; one grandson, Zachary Logan Ratliff.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with James Kelly Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023
