Jan Sheets, age 81, of River, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky.

Jan was born July 31, 1939 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Carl and Flora Daniels Adams.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul Milton Sheets; one son, Michael (Melissa) Sheets; two daughters, Denise (Edsel) Preece and Dr. Melissa (Dr. Jay) Nichols; six grandchildren, Michaela Sheets, Victoria (Logan) Jarrel, P. Tate Preece, Dr. Logan Nichols, Landon Nichols, Lincoln Nichols; two step grandchildren, Hope (Adam) Taylor and Ryan (Hilary) Preece; and two great grandchildren, Myla Sheets, Atlas Trobaugh and one little peanut on the way.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at First Christian Church with Ben Stephens officiating. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Monday, April 5, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at First Christian Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.
