Janet Romaine McKenzie, age 77, of McKenzie Branch, Flat Gap, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at UK Hospital.

Janet was born July 1, 1943 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Dewey Salyer and Lora Conley Salyers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Walter David McKenzie "Jack", one son, Jody McKenzie and one sister, Debbie Freeman; one brother Kevin Salyers.

She is survived by one son, David A McKenzie (Anna) of Flat Gap, Kentucky; two brother, Earl Salyer of Paintsville, Kentucky and John Salyer of Springfield, Ohio; one sister, Ruth Long of Urbana, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jody McKenzie, Jessica Cameron and Andrew Wiley; five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Tim Salyer officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Family Cemetery, McKenzie Branch, Flat Gap, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2021.
