Japalene Howard Bentley, age 91, of Saylersville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021.

Japalene was born July 21, 1930 in Floyd County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Beecher and Arzella Howard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Bentley; two sons, Terry Bentley and Jerry Bentley; one daughter, Diana Bentley; and three brothers, Billy Howard, Eugene Howard and Willis Howard.

She is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Kay Tackett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Bonnie Sue of Burrington, Indiana, Donna Jean Helbert of Bluff City, Tennessee, Darla Faye Bradley of Oil Springs, Kentucky and Teresa Ann Conley of Cold Water, Ohio; six sisters, Rondal Prater, Ermal Shepherd, Ruby Schuster, Ruth Shepherd, Irene Honeycutt and Pauline Stacey all of Indiana; twenty grandchildren, and host of great and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
