Jesse James VanHoose, age 43, of Oil Springs, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at his home.

Jesse was born September 25, 1981 in Boyd County, Kentucky, son of Emma Katherine VanHoose and the late Robert Francis Rice. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one sister, Rhonda Castle.

In addition to his mother, Emma Katherine VanHoose, he is survived by two brothers, Garry Dewayne (Telena) Conley of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Glenn Kelly (Paula) Conley of Oil Springs, Kentucky; one sister, Joaquinna Emma Katherine (Phillip) Conley of Oil Springs, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2025 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Mike Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Oil Springs, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
